Packaged in attractive vintage style boxes, Stella Mare soya wax candles need little in the way of extra wrapping. The 12 core fragrances, Rose, Lemon Grass, Gardenia, Mango, Green Tea, Green Fig, Italian Orange, Cranberry Tangerine, Guava Coconut, Minted Grapefruit and Lilac, have been creatively designed in-house with a rich balance of classic woods, exotic spices, vibrant fruits and aromatic florals. On top of these, new fragrances appear through the seasons, cheering both the home and the soul.
Vegan-friendly, cruelty free and containing no lead or petroleum products, our Stella Mare soy candles are hand blended using the highest quality materials. Carefully selected pure essential oils are blended with Stella Mare’s own proprietary non-GMO soy wax blend with every wick guaranteed to be 100% lead-free. Quality tested and carefully balanced, we guarantee these are the best burning candles you will find anywhere, averaging around 30 hours burning time. Beautifully packaged in an individual boutique box, they create a delightful fragrance even when left unlit.
The difference between paraffin wax and soy wax
Soy wax is a hydrogenated form of soy bean oil, and is used in both natural cosmetics and to make container candles, unlike freestanding pillar candles. Soy wax is softer than paraffin wax with a lower melting temperature of between 120 and 180 degrees Fahrenheit. This means that it can melt in hot weather which suits the wonderful containers these candles come in. Soy wax is considered safer than paraffin especially where candles are used in large numbers.
Soy wax is purchased in flake and pellet form with an opaque off-white appearance that can be coloured naturally. Stella Mare soy wax candles are totally pure with no additives to raise the melting point.
Sometimes, soy wax candles are labelled as “natural” or “vegan” when, in fact, they contain products which mean they cannot be; beeswax is an animal product often added to soy wax. Paraffin, also blended with soy wax, is derived from petroleum which is far from natural.
Stella Mare candles, a blend of soy wax and palm wax, are both vegan and natural. Other additives found in commercially-made soy candles can include stearic acid, synthetic dyes, polymers, mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic fragrances, ultraviolet absorbers and BHT crystals. It goes without saying that these synthetics would never be found in the products we sell at Nature’s Boutique.
To cover the entire candle-making spectrum, Stella Mare have a range of paraffin wax pillar candles all made to the same high standard as their container range. The same unique fragrances and attention to detail are followed and, as with the soy wax candles, they are free of unnecessary chemicals.
