The human body was ill-designed to sit around doing nothing and eating unhealthy food. To function at its true potential, the body must have all of its basic needs met. That means plenty of exercise, a healthy diet and a ritual of regular body and skin care using natural non-toxic products.
Sportique have a simple mission: to supply their customers with only the purest products created with natural, wholesome ingredients free from synthetic agents and petroleum products. Many of the chemicals absorbed through the skin are toxic, irritants and even carcinogenic. Manufacturers add these ingredients to products to make them appear more effective, while keeping production costs low. What goes into Sportique skin care? Natural products, pure and simple
The ingredients found in Sportique products are good enough to eat; indeed you could do so with no ill effects. Despite their effectiveness on the active athletic body, they are safe enough to put on the skin of infants, although we don’t suggest you try.
None of their products are tested on animals or use animal products. Sportique ensure their products are rigorously evaluated and compliant with the European Union's strict microbiological, hypoallergenic and effectiveness laws.
Some sports balms may be effective but have may as well have a chemist’s worth of toxic ingredients inside them. This includes the sulphate derivatives SLS and ALS, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate and Ammonium Lauryl Sulphate, both known irritants you won’t find in Sportique products.
Neither will you find synthetic dyes, perfumes or preservatives. Toxic parabens, which can mimic oestrogen and cause cancer, are also banned as are the irritants PPG and PEG, PolyPropylane Glycol and PolyEthylane Glycol. Diethanolamine is also avoided, as it can form toxic carcinogens after the product is made.
Lanolin, Silica, Talc, TEA, EDTA, petroleum products, aluminium, paraffin, Vaseline – these are just some of the ingredients missing from the Sportique ingredients list. What you will find instead are things like Shea butter, known for its emollient and anti-inflammatory properties, and active botanicals like Rosemary, Thyme and Black Pepper.
