The story behind Matt and Nat
The story of Matt & Nat began in 1992, when Inder Bedi (co-owner and creative director of the company) accepted a challenge to go vegetarian for a month.
The experience planted the seeds of what was to follow in1995, when Inder was in the middle of a marketing and corporate law degree. As an assignment, she had to devise a business plan for a pretend company, with “funding”. Her business plan was for a fashion house selling eco-friendly, vegan bags and accessories. Despite getting zero funding (and a B on the paper) Inder decided to ditch the idea of law school and concentrate on seeing her fantasy become a reality; thus Matt Nat was born.
